Coast Radar

We were appointed to Coast Radar in February 2012 and the first year was all about increasing site content and correcting seo, creating links and then spreading the word and building strong communities and brand awareness through online marketing tools like blogs, articles, PR, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Forums, Bookmarks and PPC.
New traffic is still on a high growth curve and we’ve seen more and more bloggers picking up and using our posts and articles. We’re now looking at site affiliations and have also started a global Pinterest Board on beaches which is helping drive traffic and awareness.
Now, in 2013 the site offers great information on the coast and beaches as well as comprehensive links on attractions nearby, accommodation, places to eat, shopping and things to do. The Where to Go app is popular as it helps site visitors decide on a holiday destination just from their desired continent and temperature ranges!
In real terms, we now need to get repeat visits increased and encourage community participation. To this end we find the Facebook page works wonders as it’s here we can ask fans to add their favourite beaches, cafés and accommodation to the site. Business owners are listing their accommodation and other coastal businesses and attractions which generates revenue and clients include Premier Inns and GoApe!
We’re looking at affiliations with coastal publications such as Coast Magazine and the Telegraph Travel as well as inflight publications. New apps like Vine are allowing us to invite video footage of coastal regions as well as easy reviews.
